Riley is a 5 Year Old Neutered Male Pit Bull Mix.

He has been at the shelter with us since the end of last December. His former owners were not allowed to have him where they were living. Riley's a great dog - he walks well on a leash, and enjoys playing with stuffed toys. He would do well in an adult only home, as the only dog - he loves to have all the attention. Riley does not get along with other dogs or cats.

Lexi and Daisy are two of our newest dogs available for adoption at the shelter.

Lexi is a 10 Year Old Spayed Female Beagle and her friend, Daisy is a 13 Year Old Spayed Female Beagle.  These two have been with each other for the last nine years and we hope to place them in a new home together.  They are both very friendly and were both victims of the economy, as their former owners were foreclosed on.

Rosee is a 2 Year Old spayed female Pit Bull Mix.

Blitz is a 2 Year Old Male Rottweiler.

Weighing in around 110 pounds, Blitz is a very social and playful dog. We are learning more about his interactions around other dogs, but due to his size, we probably would not recommend him to a home with cats.  As Blitz is a large and powerful dog, we will be looking for a home who has owned or handled such in the past.

SPECIAL NEEDS

Snow is a 1 Year Old Spayed Female Pit Bull Terrier.  

Snow came to us at the end of the summer. She was adopted from a city pound, and her owners discovered that she was deaf. They were unable to give her what she needed in regards to her deafness, and brought her to us. Snow is an energetic, playful little girl who loves to be out and about. We've been working with her on hand signals for training, and she's doing really well. She enjoys the company of other dogs, but does not like cats. Snow is going to need a home with someone who has time to commit to her care and training.

Katrina is a 1 year old spayed female Pit Bull / Lab Mix.

Katrina recently arrived at our shelter due to the former owners moving and leaving her abandoned in their home.  Neighbors heard barking and her living outside on the deck. They brought her to us, and she’s just the greatest dog. Katrina loves people and gets along with most dogs. She’s very playful and affectionate.

Autumn is a 1 Year Old Spayed Female Pekingese Mix.

She is initially a bit timid, but warms us as she get comfortable.  Autumn is social with other dogs and would be recommended for an adult home.

Pac is a 5 Year Old Neutered Male Labrador Retriever.

Pac has been at the shelter for almost a year and a half. He’s the type of dog that warms up to you after awhile. He’s a beautiful yellow lab, with all lab tendencies – he’s got a lot of energy, and lives to chase tennis balls. Pac would do best in an adult only home, with someone who has experience in handling a large, powerful dog. Pac also has food allergies and is on a special diet.

Abby is a 4 Year Old Spayed Female Lab Mix who has been at the shelter since this past spring.

 She’s got some behavioral issues, and is going to need an experienced owner to adopt her. Abby is a complete love once she gets to know you, and likes some other dogs. She enjoys being with people and getting belly rubs.

Rudy is a 5 Year Old Neutered Male Shepherd Mix who came to us as a result of behavior issues he was having in his former home.

He’s been at the shelter since last Christmas. Rudy’s going to need a home with an owner who’s experienced in handling dogs with behavior problems. Once Rudy gets to know you, he’s loving, affectionate and playful.

Clyde is an 8 Year Old Neutered Male Mastiff Mix who has been at the shelter with us since December of 2007.

Unfortunately his owner passed away and Clyde came to us. He is going to need an owner that is experienced in handling large breed dogs and behavioral issues. Clyde’s unsure of strangers – once he knows you, he’s a big baby. He loves chewing on tennis balls, and hot dogs. He gets along with some other dogs and does not like cats. Clyde’s a sweetheart, and has been waiting a long time for the right home to come along.

Candy is a 6 1/2 year old Shepherd Mix who has been at the shelter for about 2 and ½ years. 

She came to us from a local shelter. Candy is an affectionate, loving dog that just wants to be the center of attention. She will need an adult only home, and gets along with some other dogs. Candy loves running and playing, and chewing on stuffed squeaky toys.

 She's a wonderful office dog and lives with us in the adoptions office. She's a sweet dog, loves everyone she meets (she has a few cat friends), but does not like other dogs.

Tyke is a 5 yr old Neutered Male Pit Bull Terrier who came to the shelter as a result of his former owner's relocation.

He’s been at the shelter since this past spring, and came with his friend Q. He’s a sweet boy who aims to please whoever he’s with. Tyke loves playing with basketballs and belly rubs. He’s unsure of other dogs, does not like cats, but loves all the people he meets. Tyke also has food allergies and is on a special diet for that.

Caleb is a 7 1/2 year old Shepherd Mix who has been at the shelter for about a year. 

His owner was moving and could not take him with her. Caleb takes a bit of time to warm up to new people, so we are looking for an experienced owner for him. Once he gets to know you, he’ll be at your side. Caleb does not like other dogs, and would do best in an adult only home.

Noelle is our 8 Year Old Labrador/Aussie Mix.

Noelle is our longest resident at the kennel - this month marks her 3^rd year with us. Her former owner moved and did not take her. Noelle has resource guarding issues, so needs to be in an adult only home. She loves people, and her favorite thing is a game of fetch. Noelle also enjoys going for long walks and gets along with some dogs.

Frankie is a 1 Year Old Neutered Male Husky/Shepherd Mix. 

Frankie has been at the shelter a short time, since the beginning of September. He had been adopted from a city pound, but one of the children in the home developed severe allergies to him. Frankie’s an energetic boy – still a puppy at 1 year old. He loves to run and play, and will need someone with time to commit to his care. Frankie gets along with most dogs and cats, and enjoys being with people.

Sierra is a healthy 8 yr old lab mix who loves people and is great with children. She has tons of personality and is very smart and affectionate. She is quite obedient when she knows who is in charge.  Sierra loves to go on walks, chase a tennis ball, make snow angels or just hang out at your feet or curled up next to you. She is completely housebroken and never has accidents. She lives with my other two dogs, but she is definitely an alpha dog and we think she would be best in a home where she is the only dog. She can be a bully when meeting other dogs and it would take time and effort to integrate her.

Dixie is energetic, intelligent, and playful 1 1/2 Year Old Female Boxer Mix. 

A sweet and playful dog, Dixie likes to run in the yard; her leash habits are not stellar but can be walked.  She absolutely hates cats but does get along with non-feline animals.   She is house broken and has been taught to ring a bell when she has to go outside and do her business.  She likes chew sticks and pork twists and the like. 

Dixie would do well in an active family, or one which people are home a lot.  She would benefit heavily from a house with other dogs as she had pals in the house most of her life.

Scooch is an 8 year old male pit pull with a lot of love to give.  His owner passed away at Christmas and since then has been in a Kennel awaiting a lovely family to adopt him. 

He has a high amount of energy, is very playful and loves people.  He gets along with kids, other female dogs but doesn't care much for cats.  He's leashed trained and housebroken and loves long walks in the park.  His owner was an animal lover and contributed money frequently to various animal organizations including Best Friends in Utah where she spent a few weeks during the summer donating her time.  Scooch misses her very much.  He needs a warm home and someone to rescue him and give him lots of love.
