Weekly Update 4/14

We’ve had a busy and exciting week here at Adopt-A-Dog. On Wednesday, April 12th, we hosted the Norwalk Community College Veterinary Technology Program to learn about shelter medicine and skills essential for their degrees. Executive Director of Adopt-A-Dog, Kristen Rice, is the Adjunct Professor for these students, showing them the ropes of what goes on in a shelter environment and how shelter medicine can be different from your average veterinary setting. The students had a great time working alongside Rice and fell in love with the dogs. The students from the Norwalk Community College Veterinary Technology Program got to work on our new group of adoptable dogs from West Virginia.

The new group of dogs to arrive to Adopt-A-Dog have been settling in quite nicely this past week and are excited to meet everyone on Saturday, April 29th at our on site Adoption Day. Stop by the shelter at 23 Cox Ave, Armonk, NY to meet our adoptable dogs from 10am to 4pm. To beat the lines, fill out our online adoption application prior to Saturday, April 29th.

Open your home and foster a pet for adoption. We are always in need of foster homes to provide out of shelter care for both dogs and cats of any age – from newborn to seniors. Fostering also allows us to rescue more pets in need, opening up space at the shelter.
